I wanted to use this data in my research, but than I looked at the actual search results. Unfortunately, php is also used as the file extension resulting in all resumes from a PHP driven site are reflected as PHP developers.

Using intext:php should in theory restrict the search to real php developers.

I'm curious how these numbers compare to .NET developers. We've traditionally built in .NET and ASP, but are considering PHP because it appears there are more PHP developers out there than .NET...but we don't have any hard data to go on. Any thoughts on the .NET vs PHP population?

Same here... done a lot of research. I like KnowledgeBase Manager Pro from Web Site Scripts more. IMHO It seems to me that it is more full featured knowledge base application than OmnistarKbase. I have experienced a lack of common features and knowledge base sharing features using OmnistarKbase. And it looks like their demo a bit buggy.

Great to see that it is published here. Whant to share my opinion on this product as we alredy use it in our company as knowledge management software for about 2 months. We have been in beta testing. It's just amazing product of it's class , extremly useful, best interface I've ever seen in web applications. We have increased productivity with this knowledge management software as now we accumulate knowledge, contribute, discuss and sort all our brainstorm informatino in one place. Also we use this software as FAQ knowledge base for our customers, as it allows to publish separate category with subcategories to our website. Great knowledge management solution! So my advice - MUST HAVE PRODUCT!

Sphinx is a great piece of software. I use it on a website that has millions of records to index and search within. Its performance is great and also the flexibility to set weights of the fields dynamically. I'd mention possibility to externally set sorting strategies.
Also, support from the developer is of great help when things just won't fix.

In response to a previous comment - you'd be surprised what a generic custom search system can achieve (e.g. Zend_Lucene, and this one also). I dare say you might also be surprised how complex a search system can be - making a "custom solution" represent far much more work than it is often worth.

i still lake a lot of informations about XUL, and i want to try it, but by the way i want to support cakephp, an open source php mvc framework that i use to devellop pro websites, like http://www.kiragame.com for example, a web2.0 flash games website.
so i hope everybody try open source solutions because they are very mature, and flexible.
